Family Lardschneider - Family-run residence in Selva Gardena
The Residence Crespëina, run by the Lardschneider family for over 40 years, is the ideal destination for those looking for a relaxing holiday in a warm and friendly environment
The Crespëina Lake
Our Residence Crespëina, named after the mythical and evocative little mountain lake on the moonlike plateau of the enchanting Puez area, is a family-run business. For 40 years, it was managed by my parents, Edith and Mattia Lardschneider, as Garni Crespëina, until the complete renovation and expansion in 2004. To this day, both of them actively contribute to the new concept of the Residence.
Honey and Woodcarving
My father Mattia, a retired carpenter, continues to be a beekeeper - a passion that began in his youth more than half a century ago. Honey from Selva Gardena is undoubtedly one of the most natural, healthy, and distinctive products of our Dolomite region.
My mother Edith comes from the centuries-old tradition of woodcarving that is characteristic of Val Gardena. When time allows, she carves - strictly by hand and with a certificate of quality-pinewood crucifixes of rare craftsmanship and beauty.
School and Hobbies
My wife, Silvia Lantschner Lardschneider, not only helps run the Residence but is also a teacher of German and history at the “Cademia” Art High School in Val Gardena - one of the most renowned institutions in Italy for both theoretical and practical artistic education of our young students.
We have a daughter and a son.
I, David, consider myself lucky to have my family by my side - not only in a private and emotional sense, but also for their moral and practical support in managing the Residence. I'm also a ladin freelance journalist, and I teach Ladin language, history, and culture at the “Raetia” Business and Technical Institute. Part of my free time is devoted to making music as a member of the Selva town band.
Human Connection
Running Residence Crespëina as a family business represents, for us, a direct bond with the place itself, but more importantly, a human connection with our guests - both young and old.
Welcome!
Welcome to our home - with the hope that, at least for a few days, it may also feel like your home!
